MAR 8, 2013 – I came across this article about Australian activist musician Tim Levinson on the Sydney Morning Herald website. Here is an excerpt and link to full article below, check him out!
From Sydney Morning Herald:
"Contrary to all the misconceptions about rap and social activism, Levinson's drive comes not from anger but from empathy. His mother worked for years in Kings Cross with homeless children – ''always charitably minded, not charity minded'' – and brought up three children on her own after Levinson's father, a former pilot, left when Levinson was 10. This middle child was acutely aware of what his mother was going through.
''My mum became this workaholic in order to keep payments on the house maintained,'' he says."
