Sintex Era sent us his latest music video titled, "Trickle Down", which he says is "my take on the 1%." He wrote it back in May over his frustration with his job and was "pleasantly surprised that people of all walks of life are also vociferously speaking out against the injustices that the MAJORITY of Americans go through", referring to the Occupy Movement sweeping America and the world. Check out the explicit version below.
DEC 1, 2011 - Union Rocks is an organization up in Canada that is using the inspirational power of music and concerts to spread support and raise awareness on unions, labor (or "labour" as our friends in the Great White North spell it) and voting rights, along with urging young people to get out and VOTE! On their website they say, "Because when the music stops, the mosh pit is quiet, and the smoke clears with the crowd...too many children wake up in poverty, too many young people will go to unsafe jobs, untrained, unprepared and underpaid, more workers will be downsized, outsourced, or forced to devalue themselves. That's why our fists are still in the air!"
They are also affiliated with Fair Vote Canada to protect and expand voting rights, and to change the current Parliamentary system where it is "winner takes all". Fair Vote has a petition up that calls for a more fairer system to represent Canadian citizens. The petition can be found here.
Check out Union Rock's website by going here. We look forward to affiliating ourselves with Union Rocks going into 2012 so we can all Rock Our Rights!
DEC 1, 2011 - JTMP joins musicians Bono and Alicia Keyes in support of World AIDS Day and the "beginning of the end of AIDS". Bono appeared on The Daily Show last night promoting his One & (Reds) campaign and announcing that today will be the "beginning of the end of AIDS", a disease that has affected millions of people worldwide. There will be many events today, and JTMP supporters can watch the event LIVE on the One campaign's website by clicking here. They want to call attention to the great work that has been done to fight AIDS in the last 10 years, and urge everyone to keep the fight up. Bono, Alicia Keyes and President Clinton along with others will all be raising awareness on this issue today.
Watch Bono and Alicia talk about World AIDS Day on GMA this morning, sport a red ribbon, and join us in the quest to rid the world of AIDS. Follow the action on Twitter at @ONECampaign, and follow JTMP at @JTMPorg.
DEC 1, 2011 - A website has been created for activist musicians can show their support for the Occupy Movement, and to also be a gathering place for them to coordinate and organize themselves for Occupy related events and is a place where Occupy related sounds and music are posted. Check out the website for links to great songs and sounds from Occupy activist musicians and artists. JTMP plans to collaborate and work with Occupy Musicians so check back to both sites regularly.
On the website it says, "We, the undersigned musicians and all who will join us, support Occupy Wall Street and the Occupy Movement around the world.", and is already a huge list of musicians. They use the term "musician" broadly, and encourage musicians, sound engineers, sound artists, producers, DJs, producers, instrumentalists, composers, lyricists, etc. to all send them an email with your name, instruments, musical affiliations, and location to Occupy Musicians at Gmail.com.
Check out their website here.
