MIKE D ON STAND FOR LAWSUIT AGAINST ENERGY DRINK
JUNE 5, 2014 – Apparently the Beastie Boys are no fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his conservative politics. The New York Daily News is reporting that musician Mike D from the Beastie Boys, in court suing an energy drink for using one of their songs in a promotional video without their permission, said on the witness stand he and the band turned down a lot of money when Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to use their song “Sabatoge” for his movie of the same name. Mike D said they didn’t allow Schwarzenegger to use their song because, “It felt too much like an endorsement.
