    Suu Kyi aung san suu kyi receives amnesty international’s highest honor

    June 20, 2012 – Aung San Suu Kyi has been awarded Amnesty International's highest honor for her brave and continued work to bring freedom and political rights to Burma/Myanmar. She was greeted like a rock star and by a rock star, Bono from U2, when she visited Ireland to accept the award. She was treated to a musical show that included Bono, Bob Geldof and musicians from around the world. She will then travel to England, and accept a honorary doctorate from Oxford University and address both houses of Parliament. She will also be reunited with her grown children she hasn't seen since her house arrest in 2010.
