JAN 23, 2012 - A "rightwing-leaning" band Madison Rising on a whim asked if they could have stage time at a recent Occupy Congress rally, and to their surprise they were told yes. They were welcomed warmly by the crowd, and sang several songs. Read more on Politico here.

With all this talk about SOPA and PIPA, JTMP has learned that the hip-hop blog site OnSmash.com, a site featuring agents and promotional music, was shut down by the government in November of 2010, with an affidavit alleging it had facilitated copyright infringement. The founder soon opened up a new domain, FreeOnSmash.com. Some are saying this is an example of collateral damage in the government's overzealous "war on piracy".

Activist band Op-Critical has just released a music video covering the Stephen Stills classic, "For What Its Worth". This was an iconic song in the first Occupy protests, the 1960s, and is still relevant today when it comes to the 99% and the 1%. Check out Op-Critical on MySpace and Facebook.
