Aerosmith Steve Tyler and Joe Perry hang out with Sea Shepherd

Steven Tyler Joe Perry Sea Shepherd tag

MAY 1, 2013 - Joe Perry and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith spent the day with the crew of my heroes, the Sea Shepherd crew. They were joined by their band historian John, and got a tour of all 3 ships. The Sea Shepherd society battles illegal whaling by the Japanese, and also battle other people who kill whales senselessly and needlessly such as Faroe Island (or the Ferocious Island as we call it) who murder whales in cold blood in a sick hunt. They put their lives on the line to protect whales and all sorts of other marine life, and their exploits can be seen on TV on one of my favorite shows, Whale Wars on Animal Planet. Check out pics and more info on Omar Todds blog on WhoSay.com here, and check out the Sea Shepherd website here.  (photo credit: Tim Waters)

MayDay tag

MAY 1, 2013 - JTMP recognizes and honors May Day, or International Worker's Daya holiday dedicated to workers and their rights, and unions. JTMP believes we need to raise the minimum wage and strengthen unions. We urge all our supporters to get out to the streets and let your voice be heard, and fight for worker's rights. Try to find events in your local area! If you are in New York, check out the awesome stuff going on with Occupy Wall Street Music Group, for they have several events and are marching with the Guitarmy for worker's rights. US Magazine Natalie Maines It is not a thing I wanted to be right about

APR 29, 2013 - US magazine has an exclusive interview with Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks, and she doesn't regret slamming George W. Bush, and she turned out to be totally right. She of course was attacked by reactionaries in 2003 when she commented at a London concert that she was "embarrassed" that George W. Bush was from her home state of Texas. The group was dropped by many country radio stations, and she comments how she is upset at country radio and how they didn't support them when they exercised their freedom of speech. She is coming out with a solo project that is not country, yet she says she is not doing it because she is upset at the country music industry. Natalie added that "...it's not a thing I wanted to be right about. It's not a good 'I told you so' with all those people losing their lives." Jello Biafra Obama Owes Obama Big Time

APR 26 2013 - Former member of the Dead Kennedys and musical-activist Jello Biafra is featured in an interview on the Guardian website, and weighs in on Occupy, Obama and social networking, and says, "I think that anyone who declared that Occupy was a failure was very much mistaken. I knew it would have a ripple effect, like throwing a big piece of concrete into a lake and just watching the waves ripple. In a way, Obama owes Occupy big time for saving his ass in the 2012 election. Occupy brought the issue of inequality and Grand Theft Austerity, as I call it, right to the forefront."
