OCT 13, 2013 – Taylor Swift, the leading charitable musician of the year in 2012, has upped the ante even more. Taylor has given the biggest donation to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum ever, $4 million dollars, to open up a "Taylor Swift Education Center" on 2 floors in the building. Ms. Swift is no stranger to the place, for she performed volunteer fundraising when she was younger and even performed as a teenager at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and even signing her first contract there.
The Taylor Swift Education Center features 3 classrooms, a learning lab and a state-of-the-art children's exhibit gallery, and increases their classroom capacity by sevenfold. It features dozens of instruments, and curators on display restoring musical instruments that will eventually go on display. JAN 24, 2012 – Taylor Swift met with cancer patient Kayla, after her parents and friends started an Internet drive to get the activist musician to meet with her. They started a Twitter drive called #OperationGetKaylaToMeetTaylorSwift, and then set up a web page called TeamKaylaKinCannon.org, to tell her story and push for a meeting with the young artist. Taylor caught wind of it, and Kayla's dream came true when Ms. Swift visited her, and they said it was no quick meet-and-greet, she stayed for hours, ate lunch, gave presents, and even signed pictures. The family was moved and happily surprised and impressed with her great quality as a person. Kayla's dad said, "She is the sweetest, most down to earth person I have ever met!" Taylor Swift Receives Ripple Award from RFK Center for Justice, and is #1 in Top 20 Celebs Gone Good
JAN 11, 2013 – Taylor Swift has been very active in the musical activist field, and she has been rewarded with all her great work with awards and recognition. On December 3, 2012, she was awarded the Ripple of Hope Award at the Robert F. Kennedy Center. The RFK Center hands out the award to individuals who "reflect Robert Kennedy's passion for equality, justice, basic human rights, and his belief that we all must strive to make gentle the life of this world." They held a huge gala, and she even performed Starlight for the crowd (see lyric video below of studio track). Taylor Swift was also named #1 by DoSomething.org in their Top 20 Celebs Gone Good contest recognizing charitable and positive activist work in the community.
Finally, Taylor got over 4 million votes to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum, the most votes ever for an artist. DEC 10, 2012 – Taylor Swift has donated a beautiful signed Taylor guitar to the holiday auction being held to raise funds for the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, an institution dedicated to helping those in oppressed communities, and carry on the work of the great Senator Robert F. Kennedy devoted his life to.

APR 2, 2012 – Taylor Swift received a Big Help Award from Michelle Obama on Nickleodeon's Kids' Choice Award show this weekend, and was "freaking out" when she took the award from the first lady she remarked at the podium. Taylor received the award for her extensive activism and charity work, such as helping tornado and flood victims, libraries, children's charities and even combating bullying to name just a little of the work she has done. She was also awarded for her ability to inspire her fans to make a difference.
The Big Help is an initiative by Nickleodeon to be a hub for kids to connect and get involved with service work such as donating clothes or raising funds for a charity. Their website says "Service is all about giving your time to others." The kids can collect points and earn stuff like a cool avatar or a virtual kitty. Check out The Big Help here. FEB 27, 2012 – Kevin McGuire, a Taylor Swift fan, doesn't get to have Taylor Swift as his prom date, he'll have to settle for a date with Taylor at the next American Country Music Awards show. Kevin is fighting cancer for a second time, and his sister Victoria launched a Facebook campaign to get Taylor to go to the prom with Kevin. Taylor saw the campaign and responded on her Facebook page with a message. So far, 117k+ have "Liked" it:
