JAN 17, 2014 – Neil Young is on a benefit tour for the campaign "Honor the Treaties", which aims to put pressure on Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Canadian government to honor the treaties they signed with the Native people of Canada, who are fighting the battle of their life right now in protecting the lands and water from tar sands development and pollution. DEC 2, 2012 – Sleater-Kinney, the alt-rock girl activist band that JTMP featured back in 2006 when we were just getting started, reunited at a Portland, Oregon Pearl Jam show last Friday night. This was the first time they had been together on stage live since 2006, and they jammed out to the Neil Young song "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World". Watch the YouTube video below. SEP 23, 2013 – Farm Aid 2013 was held this weekend, and the first footage to come out of the Saratoga Springs, New York event are out, and it is the founder of Farm Aid, Neil Young; playing a solo set on his acoustic guitar. Farm Aid's work is really important these days, with corporations such as Monsanto trying to buy up the family farms and ruin our food supply. SEPT 12, 2013 – During a stop in Washington, D.C. for the National Farmers Union conference, rocker Neil Young commented on the devastated conditions of the Alberta town Fort McMurray due to the oil sands operation at the Athabasca Oil Sands; and compared the damage to Hiroshima after the atomic bomb.
