Indigo Girls Bring Their Activism and Music to Michigan

AUG 27, 2013 – A band that was interviewed several times by JTMP in the early days, the Indigo Girls are one of our favorites here at JTMP. MLive.com has a post up about how they are playing at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park on September 5, 2013, and it is said to be one of the best venues in the state. The interview delves into their activism and music, and the difficulty of finding a balance between the two. Amy Ray says, "We just try to engage people to think about their own communities and what they can do. We make it clear that we respect people that don't agree – it takes all approaches. Amy Ray of Indigo Girls Speaks on Music and Activism in GA Voice Interview

Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls was featured in a recent interview at the GA Voice, a LGBT news website based out of their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, and she touched on Troy Davis and environmental issues and said, "It’s all tied together for us. It’s all about shifting the paradigm of human welfare, public welfare, and environmental welfare."
