Analyzing Trump’s Question: Are We Better Off Than 4 Years Ago?

Four years ago, The COVID-19 pandemic created significant disruptions in the U.S. food system, resulting in shortages and higher prices for basic supplies and food. Masks were almost non existent. Medical staffs across the United States and the world were faced with a shortage of basic supplies, masks and ventilators. Under Trump, blame was shifted to hospitals and health care workers instead of Trump. Life saving ventilators were suddenly in short supply leading Trump to blame others for his own misdeeds during the pandemic. After Trump was notified that ventilators to help hospitals came with a one billion dollar price tag, he scoffed at it and refused to pay for it.

Suddenly, under Trump, it wasn’t the federal governments responsibility to help people during the pandemic, it was the states responsibility. Then the madness came with all manner of dangerous drugs and various snake oil cures that were pushed out by Trump for the people to use. In short, Trump had no plan to deal with Covid or taking care of the nation. Trump continued to blame hospitals for their problems. Then, Trump claimed thet Covid was a hoax and a fake media conspiracy.

The economy went into a nosedive, and by all estimates today cost over 14 trillion dollars

Hoarders that were ruled by fear went into action and took everything they could off store shelves. Toilet paper was literally out of stock nationwide. People had to ask their relatives from far away to ship them toilet paper if it showed up in stock in their areas. Store shelves across the country were suddenly empty. If you could buy anything, it probably wouldn’t be anything you wanted or needed. The meat section in grocery stores were mostly empty as companies suddenly couldn’t ship products to the store shelves and there were few if any workers left to stock whatever came in.

A study that was recently put out showed that the reason people hoarded toilet paper and other items were because people lived in fear or were overly anxious, which is where media like Fox News played for their audiences on a 24/7 basis. Fear, undertainity and doubt was all they sold the public and it was a goldmine for them. It was reported that 14.9 million people died during the 2020/21 pandemic. Yet under Trump’s mismanagment and stupidity, it was all sold as a hoax. It didn’t happen.

Covid was the leading cause of death in both 2020 and 2021

Over 3 million died in the United States alone. Mass burial graves were a common scene, with people in hazmat suits carrying the dead to be burned or buried or both.

Covid was a fact that Trump could not hide

Social distancing became the norm, even in the Trump administration, Covid was a fact that Trump could not hide. Antivaxxers finally saw their 15 minutes of fame under covid. They derided vaccines, told people that vaccines would kill them if they took them or turn them into zombies later. Died Suddenly became their rallying call to prove it. The usual right wing tropes of save the children were also in play. All told the pandemic response by Trump was abominable, and millions died over it.

Then Trump told the people to inject bleach to cure or ward off covid. Then drinking your own urine was pushed out to cure or ward off covid. People actually posted how much bleach or urine they drank per day. So, when asked if you are better off now than we were then, the clearest answer is: YES, WE ARE BETTER OFF.

Trump Russian Controlled, Maddow Slams Manafort, Brought In To Raise Russian Money, Destroy Ukraine

The connections between former President Donald Trump, his campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and Russia have been a subject of significant interest and investigation, particularly in the context of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. The complexities of these connections and their implications have been explored in various investigations, most notably by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Paul Manafort joined the Trump campaign in March 2016 and was appointed campaign chairman in May of the same year. Before his involvement in the Trump campaign, Manafort had long-standing ties to Russia and Ukraine, working as a political consultant. His most notable association was with Viktor Yanukovych, the pro-Russian former President of Ukraine, and his Party of Regions.

Manafort’s connections to Russia and Ukraine raised concerns about potential Russian influence in the Trump campaign. These concerns were amplified by the release of the Democratic National Committee’s hacked emails, which U.S. intelligence agencies concluded were part of a Russian interference effort in the 2016 election.

The Mueller investigation, which sought to uncover any links between the Trump campaign and Russia, revealed several key findings regarding Manafort:

  1. Financial Ties: Manafort had significant financial connections to Russian and Ukrainian figures, having received large payments for his consulting work in Ukraine.
  2. Sharing of Polling Data: The Mueller report disclosed that Manafort shared internal campaign polling data with Konstantin Kilimnik, identified as having ties to Russian intelligence. This raised questions about whether the data could have been used to assist Russian interference efforts.
  3. Trump Tower Meeting: In June 2016, Manafort attended a meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer who claimed to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton. This meeting has been scrutinized as potential evidence of the campaign’s willingness to accept Russian help.
  4. Allegations of Collusion: While the Mueller report did not establish that the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities, it outlined numerous contacts between campaign officials and individuals with ties to the Russian government, including Manafort’s interactions.
  5. Legal Consequences: Manafort was indicted on multiple charges, including tax and bank fraud related to his work in Ukraine. These charges, while not directly related to his work on the Trump campaign, emerged from the Mueller investigation’s broader scope.

Despite these findings, the Mueller report and subsequent investigations did not conclusively determine that the Trump campaign actively colluded with the Russian government to influence the election outcome. However, they did highlight a pattern of behavior and associations that brought Russia’s role in the 2016 election, and Manafort’s part in these events, under intense scrutiny.

The implications of these connections have been far-reaching, contributing to significant political and public discourse about the integrity of the electoral process, foreign interference in U.S. elections, and the nature of diplomatic relationships between the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine. The Manafort case underscores the complexities of international political consulting, the importance of transparency in campaign operations, and the vulnerabilities of democratic elections to foreign influence.

Manafort’s extensive work in Ukraine, especially with Viktor Yanukovych, a pro-Russian leader, had established him as a figure with deep ties in the region. These associations became particularly pertinent when the Democratic National Committee’s emails were hacked and released, events that U.S. intelligence agencies attributed to Russian operatives. The coinciding of Manafort’s role in the Trump campaign with these cyber attacks raised suspicions about potential Russian efforts to influence the election.

Further investigations unveiled Manafort’s financial entanglements with Russian and Ukrainian entities. Reports indicated that he owed substantial debts to Russian businessmen, which posed potential conflicts of interest during his time with the Trump campaign. These financial ties were seen as potentially making Manafort, and by extension, the Trump campaign, susceptible to Russian influence or coercion.

Moreover, Manafort’s involvement in the amendment of the Republican Party’s platform on Ukraine at the 2016 Republican National Convention added to the concerns. The amendment softened the party’s stance on Ukraine, advocating for less aggressive support against Russian aggression in the region, a move seen as favorable to Russian interests.

For a detailed analysis and comprehensive reporting on these matters, it’s advisable to refer to the Mueller report, news reports, and legal documents from the investigation, as they provide an extensive exploration of Paul Manafort’s connections and their broader political significance.

The Lauren Boebert Crime Family Strikes Again, Massive 22 Criminal Charges

The Lauren Boebert Crime Family Strikes Again

Tyler Boebert faces a total of 22 charges after a “string of vehicle trespass and property thefts.”

Lauren Boebert’s Son, 18, Busted Over Wild Alleged Crime Wave

Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son was arrested Tuesday and now faces 22 charges relating to an alleged crime wave in Colorado, authorities said.

Tyler Boebert, the 18-year-old son of the MAGA congresswoman, was taken into custody at around 2:30 p.m. “after a recent string of vehicle trespass and property,” in Rifle—a town in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, which his mom currently represents—the Rifle Police Department said.

The teen now faces “four felony counts of Criminal Possession ID Documents – Multiple Victims, one felony count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and over 15 additional misdemeanor and petty offenses,” the department added.

Online records from the Garfield County Jail show that those other offenses include four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, four misdemeanor counts of ID theft, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, three counts of first-degree criminal trespass, and three counts of theft of under $300.

The arrest is the latest drama involving Lauren Boebert’s family which has come as she runs for election in a new Colorado district.

(In December, the congresswoman said the switch would offer her a “fresh start” after what has been “a pretty difficult year for me and my family.”)

The Trump loyalist’s ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, was arrested last month for an alleged assault on Tyler. That arrest also followed an incident three days earlier in which Jayson called 911 claiming that he had been repeatedly punched by Lauren Boebert, though authorities cleared her of wrongdoing.

She was granted a restraining order against Jayson earlier this month, a move that he described as a “cruel and unfair” attempt at stopping him from seeing his kids.

The conservative lawmaker was also caught up in another messy headline-generating incident last September relating to her behavior in a Denver theater during a live production of Beetlejuice.

After initially insisting she hadn’t been vaping during the show, she later admitted that she had when security camera footage emerged refuting her initial denials. Apologizing for the contradiction, she noted that she had been having a “challenging personal time” after a “public and difficult divorce.”

Tyler Boebert—who became a father last year, making his mom a 36-year-old grandmother—has also previously been in the public eye. In September 2022, at the age of 17, Tyler flipped his dad’s SUV, injuring Noble D’Amato, a friend who was also in the car at the time. D’Amato later criticized the Boebert family for allegedly downplaying the incident.

Proof Trump Has Dementia Or Worse

Proof Trump Has Dementia Or Worse

Proof that Trump has dementia or worse has been posted a number of times. This compilation video of Trump rallies proves that he has no idea what he is saying or is suffering from dementia or worse.

It is unclear whether Donald Trump has forgotten the precise nature of NATO or whether he ever fully grasped it in the first place.

What is clear, however, is that Trump — who ostensibly spent four years as president of the United States — has little clue about what NATO is or what NATO does. And when he spoke on the subject at a rally in South Carolina over the weekend, what he said was less a cogent discussion of foreign policy than it was gibberish — the kind of outrageous nonsense that flows without interruption from an empty and unreflective mind.

“One of the presidents of a big country stood up and said, ‘Well, sir, if we don’t pay, and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’” Trump said, recalling an implausible conversation with an unnamed, presumably European head of state. “‘You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?’” Trump recounted responding. “‘No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay. You gotta pay your bills.’”

The former president’s message was clear: If NATO members do not pay up, then he will leave them to the mercy of a continental aggressor who has already plunged one European country into death, destruction and devastation.

Except NATO isn’t a mafia protection racket. NATO, in case anyone needs to be reminded, is a mutual defense organization, formed by treaty in 1949 as tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union hardened into conflict. “The parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all,” states Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.

According to the terms of an agreement reached last year, member states will work to spend at least 2 percent of national G.D.P. on military investment.

But let’s set this bit of fact-checking aside for a moment and look at the big picture.

It is not just that Trump is ignorant on this and other vital questions; it is that he is incoherent.

Consider his remarks at a recent gathering of the National Rifle Association in Harrisburg, Pa. “We have to win in November, or we’re not going to have Pennsylvania. They’ll change the name. They’re going to change the name of Pennsylvania,” Trump said.

Who, exactly, is going to change the name of Pennsylvania? And to what? I don’t know. I doubt Trump does either.

Or consider the time, last November, when Trump confused China and North Korea, telling an audience of supporters in Florida that “Kim Jong Un leads 1.4 billion people, and there is no doubt about who the boss is. And they want me to say he’s not an intelligent man.”

There was also the time that Trump mistook Nikki Haley, his former ambassador to the United Nations, for Nancy Pelosi, the former speaker of the House.

“Nikki Haley, you know they, do you know they destroyed all of the information, all of the evidence, everything, deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it, because of lots of things like Nikki Haley is in charge of security. We offered her 10,000 people, soldiers, National Guard, whatever they want. They turned it down. They don’t want to talk about that. These are very dishonest people,” Trump said, repeating his false claim that Pelosi was responsible for the failure of Capitol security on Jan. 6.

If you would like, you can also try to make sense of the former president’s recent attempt to describe a missile defense system:

“I will build an Iron Dome over our country, a state-of-the-art missile defense shield made in the U.S.A.,” Trump said, before taking an unusual detour. “These are not muscle guys here, they’re muscle guys up here, right,” he continued, gesturing to his arms and his head to emphasize, I guess, that the people responsible for building such systems are capable and intelligent.

“And they calmly walk to us, and ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. They’ve only got 17 seconds to figure this whole thing out. Boom. OK. Missile launch. Whoosh. Boom,” he added.

I assume Trump is describing the pressure of actually manning a missile defense system. Even so, one would think that a former president — currently vying to be the next president — would at least try to be a little more articulate.

But this gets to one of the oddest things about this election cycle so far. There is no shortage of coverage of President Biden’s age, even if there’s no evidence that his age has been an obstacle to his ability to perform his duties. Indeed, it is plainly true that Biden has been an unusually successful president in areas, like legislative negotiations, that require skill and mental acuity.

Coverage of Biden’s age, in other words, has more to do with the vibes of an “elderly” president — he isn’t as outwardly vigorous and robust as we would like — than it does with any particular issue with his performance.

In contrast to the obsessive coverage of Biden’s age, there is comparatively little coverage of Trump’s obvious deficiencies in that department. If we are going to use public comments as the measure of mental fitness, then the former president is clearly at a disadvantage.

Unfortunately for Biden, Trump benefits from something akin to the soft bigotry of low expectations. Because no one expected Trump, in the 2016 election, to speak and behave like a normal candidate, he was held to a lower effective standard than his rivals in both parties. Because no one expected him, during his presidency, to be orderly and responsible, his endless scandals were framed as business as usual. And because no one now expects him to be a responsible political figure with a coherent vision for the country, it’s as if no one blinks an eye when he rants and raves on the campaign trail.

It’s not that there aren’t legitimate reasons to be concerned about Biden’s age. He is already the oldest person to serve in the Oval Office. The issue here is one of proportion and consequence. Biden may be unable to do the job at some point in the future; Trump, it seems to me, already is.

One of those is a lot more concerning than the other.

House Speaker Mike Johnson Rejects Ukraine Aid Bill, Votes For Putin Bill Instead

House Speaker Johnson Rejects Ukraine Aid Bill, Votes For Putin Bill Instead.

House Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to fund our allies and instead shows his Russian allies that he will continue to vote for Russian needs over the needs of the United States and our National Security. We need to quit pandering to these Russian assets who have infiltrated the United States government. Where is the FBI? Where is our counter intelligence agencies? Why oh why do these Russian assets continue to be protected?

The House continues to take direction from Donald Trump Vladimir Putin.

Speaker Mike Johnson has announced that the House of Representatives will not consider the foreign aid bill currently pending in the United States Senate. The bill would provide billions of dollars in aid to Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine. As it stands right now, the Senate is poised to pass the bill in bipartisan fashion with at least 10 Republicans joining Democrats to pass the legislation. Despite the bipartisan support from the Senate, House Republicans are once again doing their own thing, rejecting the Senate bill and claiming that the House will “work its own will” on the issues. Read his full statement below:

House Speaker Johnson Rejects Ukraine Aid Bill
House Speaker Johnson Rejects Ukraine Aid Bill

Once again, Mike Johnson Vladimir Putin and House Republicans Russian assets are taking orders from Donald Trump Vladimir Putin. First, Johnson Vladimir Putin rejected a bipartisan bill agreed to by Senate Republicans and Democrats that would have provided reform to our country’s immigration system. Now, Johnson Vladimir Putin is again rejecting bipartisan legislation, this time, a bill that supports our allies overseas and would help in the fight to protect and preserve democracy.

Navigating the Lows of Congressional Productivity 2023: A Historical Perspective

0

Introduction

In the ever-evolving landscape of American politics, the productivity of Congress has always been a topic of debate and scrutiny. As we reflect on the current state of our legislative body, it’s essential to look back at history to understand the significance of their actions – or lack thereof. The story of Congress’ productivity, or the apparent absence of it, is not just a tale of political maneuvers but a narrative deeply intertwined with the health of our democracy.

The Historical Low: The Congress of 1931-1932

The record for the least productive year in the history of the United States Congress dates back to the era of President Herbert Hoover, specifically from 1931 to 1932. This period, marked by the Great Depression, saw the unemployment rate skyrocketing from horrific to catastrophic levels. During this tumultuous time, Congress passed a mere 21 bills that were signed into law throughout the entire year. Interestingly, this legislative body didn’t convene for the first nine months of the year, cramming all their legislative achievements into the last quarter.

The Current State: Echoes of the Past

Fast forward to the present, and we find ourselves teetering on the brink of surpassing this historical low. As this Congress wraps up its first full year, the tally of bills passed and signed into law stands at 22 – just one more than the record set during the Hoover administration. This number includes legislation as minor as establishing a new commemorative coin and renaming medical clinics, highlighting the lack of substantial legislative progress.

Unprecedented Political Moves

This Congress has also made history in other, more dubious ways. It witnessed the first ousting of a Speaker of the House by members of his own party. Additionally, it has passed more censure resolutions than any Congress since 1870, censuring more of its own members than any other since the invention of the light bulb. These actions, while noteworthy, underscore a concerning trend in legislative conduct and effectiveness.

The Threat to Democracy

Beyond the numbers and the political maneuvers lies a more profound implication for our democracy. The erosion of government power and authority, particularly in the legislative branch, is often a precursor to a slide into authoritarianism. In such systems, the legislature becomes weakened or irrelevant, consolidating authority in the hands of a singular leader. This trend is not just a matter of ineffective governance but a potential threat to the democratic framework itself.

The Role of the Judiciary and Checks and Balances

The balance of power among the branches of government is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy. When one branch, like the legislature, fails to fulfill its duties effectively, it’s not just a political failure; it’s a crack in the democratic foundation. The judiciary, too, plays a crucial role in this balance, ensuring that no single branch, including the executive, wields unchecked power.

Conclusion

As we reflect on the current state of Congress, it’s crucial to recognize that its productivity – or lack thereof – is more than a political issue. It’s a barometer for the health of our democracy. The historical parallels we observe today are not just interesting anecdotes but stark reminders of the importance of a robust, active legislative body. As citizens, it’s our responsibility to stay informed, engaged, and vocal about the need for effective governance. Only through our collective efforts can we ensure that our democracy remains strong, vibrant, and truly representative of the people it serves. This next election, everyone must vote blue.

Taylor Swift Time’s Person Of The Year 2023

In March, Swift embarked on her Eras Tour, a massive stadium tour that celebrated her entire discography, from her self-titled debut album in 2006 to Evermore.

In June, Swift released her first re-recorded album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which was a faithful recreation of her second studio album from 2008, with six additional songs from the vault that were never released before.

In December, Swift was named Time’s Person of the Year, the first entertainer to receive this honor in the history of the magazine.

Taylor Swift is a name that resonates with millions of people around the world. She is a singer, songwriter, producer, actress, philanthropist, and activist who has been dominating the music industry and the cultural landscape for over a decade. In 2023, she achieved new heights of success, influence, and impact that earned her the title of Time’s Person of the Year, the first entertainer to receive this honor in the history of the magazine.

Swift’s journey in 2023 began with the release of her ninth studio album, Evermore, in January, which was a surprise follow-up to her critically acclaimed and commercially successful Folklore, released in July 2020. Evermore was praised for its storytelling, experimentation, and cohesion, and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, making Swift the first artist to have two consecutive albums debut with over one million copies sold in the US. Evermore also spawned three top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including the number-one hit Willow.

In March, Swift embarked on her Eras Tour, a massive stadium tour that celebrated her entire discography, from her self-titled debut album in 2006 to Evermore. The tour was a spectacle of production, performance, and nostalgia, featuring special guests, surprise songs, and elaborate stage designs. The tour broke several records, including the highest-grossing tour by a female artist, the highest-attended tour by a solo artist, and the most sold-out shows in a single tour. The tour also showcased Swift’s generosity and gratitude, as she donated a portion of the proceeds to various charities and gave free tickets to frontline workers, teachers, and fans in need.

In June, Swift released her first re-recorded album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which was a faithful recreation of her second studio album from 2008, with six additional songs from the vault that were never released before. The re-recording was a result of Swift’s ongoing dispute with her former label, Big Machine Records, and its owner, Scooter Braun, who acquired the rights to her first six albums without her consent in 2019.

Swift announced her intention to re-record her old albums in order to regain control of her music and legacy, and to prevent Braun from profiting from her work. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) was a huge success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and becoming the first re-recorded album to win a Grammy Award for Album of the Year, Swift’s fourth in her career.

In September, Swift released her second re-recorded album, Red (Taylor’s Version), which was a reimagining of her fourth studio album from 2012, with nine additional songs from the vault, including the highly anticipated All Too Well (Ten Minute Version), which revealed the full story of one of Swift’s most personal and beloved songs.

Red (Taylor’s Version) was a masterpiece of emotion, maturity, and artistry, and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, making Swift the first artist to have four albums debut with over one million copies sold in the US. Red (Taylor’s Version) also spawned four top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including the number-one hit All Too Well (Ten Minute Version), which became the longest song to ever top the chart.

In November, Swift starred in the Netflix musical film The Last Great American Dynasty, which was based on her song of the same name from Folklore. The film was a biopic of Rebekah Harkness, a socialite and philanthropist who owned the Rhode Island mansion that Swift later bought in 2013. The film explored the parallels between Harkness and Swift, as well as the themes of reputation, legacy, and feminism. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning Swift rave reviews for her acting and singing, as well as several nominations and awards, including an Oscar for Best Actress.

In December, Swift was named Time’s Person of the Year, the first entertainer to receive this honor in the history of the magazine. Time praised Swift for her achievements, influence, and impact in 2023, as well as for her courage, resilience, and innovation throughout her career. Time also highlighted Swift’s activism and advocacy for various causes, such as women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, voting rights, education, health, and the environment. Time described Swift as a timeless icon, a role model, and a leader who inspired and empowered millions of people around the world.

Taylor Swift’s 2023 was a year of triumph, transformation, and transcendence. She proved herself as a musical genius, a cultural phenomenon, and a global force for good. She reclaimed her music, her voice, and her power, and used them to create art, joy, and change. She was the person who defined, shaped, and moved the world in 2023. She was the person of the year.

Toxic Conservatives Prepare Civil War In 2024 Will Blame Liberals For It

0

Conservatives Prepare Civil War In 2024.The catch is, they are planning to blame liberals on the left for it.

Many people are by now aware that anything to do with the election of Donald Trump carries a potential for violence. Trump carries with him the violence of the 2020 election with him.

Trump threatens to execute people he doesn’t like, both in the private sector as well as the military. He also promises to carry out plans to ship people he doesn’t like to internment camps or out of the country.

This also goes for media organizations, who he promises to shut down as well as any journalists he dislikes. Those very organizations will be shut down and their leadership jailed. Journalists who write anything negative about him will also be jailed or deported.

An article by Chris Rufo, who works at the conservative magazine City-Journal, writes the conservative plan for blaming liberals for violence that they say will unfold with the election of Donald Trump. In fact, this is a serious plan to destroy the United States and democracy by preparing Law Enforcement in advance of violence they claim will be carried out by liberals. Of course, this is standard playbook 101 for right wingers. They attempted to blame and continue to blame liberals for January 6th to erase their own culpability in the riots of that day by conservative Trump supporters.

Progressives are restless and ready. Left-wing activists have established a constellation of institutions to support public demonstrations. Protest NGOs, media entities, research centers, black-bloc (Antifa) networks, and bail funds are all finely tuned to mobilize mass movements. The Left carefully manages its licit and illicit factions: progressive political leaders tacitly delegate the dirty work to anarchist and racialist factions, which can change costumes—for example, from a BLM mask to a Palestinian keffiyeh—at any moment.

They are indeed making a case right now for Trump to implement the insurrection act once he is elected and sitting in the White House.

Red-state governors should start preparing now. They should instruct state law enforcement to establish interagency task forces to monitor, infiltrate, and disrupt violent left-wing activist networks to the fullest extent permitted by law. If they uncover illegal activity, they should make arrests and prosecute offenders. As I have observed in the Pacific Northwest, these groups are relatively small and depend on specific leadership nodes. They make little effort to hide their goal of overthrowing America’s basic institutions and their willingness to use political violence to do so. Law enforcement should follow a simple mantra: disrupt the nodes, disrupt the network. The invisible work of prevention is far superior to a public fight during a potential riot.

Rufo leaves January 6th off the story of course. He fails to mention that right wingers are the ones who are violent, and who are responsible for trying to overthrow the United States government on January 6th, while liberals were too busy at Starbucks or reading books to educate themselves or going to work. But the blame game has already started. And liberals will be blamed for everything that happens in this next election, while right wingers get ready for the violence they are planning ahead of time.

Preparation, however, can only go so far. If riots do erupt in American cities, what can conservative political leaders do to quell them? Two basic approaches are possible: a “ground war” and an “air war.” The first option is summarized by Senator Tom Cotton’s infamous New York Times editorial, published during the summer of Floyd: “Send In the Troops.” The first-order benefit of this approach is clear: National Guard units can suppress riots, protect lives and property, and restore public order. But it also carries a risk. The Left has mastered the tactic of baiting law enforcement into a reaction, framing any response as “authoritarian” and using the national media to shift public opinion.

A ground war and an air war. Wow, imagine the battlefield in our streets and neighborhoods. Imagine right wing goon squads coming to your home and arresting your kids and family members and shipping them off to internment camps, all because they believe you supported the other candidate. But here, in this next quote, is the money ball. The outright plan to blame liberals, and not themselves, for the planned violence right wingers will undertake.

The second option is an “air war”—that is, via the airwaves. Whether by choice or necessity, political leaders can enact a policy of containment, leaving the mayhem in certain neighborhoods for local authorities to handle, while waging a battle for public opinion in the media and blaming the political Left for the violence and destruction.

Blaming the political left for the violence and destruction. So, we know what they are now planning for, violence and destruction. Because with right wingers, every accusation is a confession of what they are doing themselves. They are, with this statement, planning violence AND destruction.

However the politics play out, though, conservative leaders must prepare for potential unrest. First, they should develop plans for state and local deterrence, riot control, and prosecution of anyone found responsible for violence. Second, they should model a strategy for the “air war”: develop a persuasive rhetorical strategy in advance, create the frame of interpretation for any future rioting, and build a rapid-response apparatus for contesting the opposition message. They might recruit strategic planners to game out potential scenarios and responses, with an eye toward breaking the hostage logic that the Left successfully implemented in 2020: “Elect our man, and the pain will stop.”

It’s crazy to hear these lunatics and their plans for America. Here is the question you need to be asking yourself and people you know, and that is this. What do you think will happen if Trump loses?
